感想１：
イギリス人のJacquiに勧められて読みました。Kindle 版しかなかったので、これを読むためにKindle
Touchを買いました。Kindleは思ったよりも読みやすく、一気に読めました。
最初は文字を小さくしていましたが、だんだん文字を大きくしていきました。1ページ当たりの文字数が少なくても、物語に没頭できるのが不思議ですね。一目で把握できる単語の数と理解が関係しているのでしょうね。
感想2：
イギリス人の見方で日本と日本人について書いています。私の場合は、彼の感情に感情移入して違和感なく読めました。あまり海外の人と接触していない日本人が読むと、どのような感想を持つのかとても興味があります。
物語は、福井県の大野に英語教師として2年間赴任されたSamのノンフィクションです。
