Dickensを始めて読んだのが、このペンギン リーダーズです。サマリー版ですが、ストーリーの作りが気に入ったので、オリジナル版を読みたくなりました。Pip少年が、貧しい鍛冶屋で育てられ、やがて名を明かさない人物の支援で富を得るサクセスストーリーです。オリジナルを読んだらもう少しコメントを書き足す予定です。
Pip is a poor young orphan, living with his sister and her husband Joe, a blacksmith.
